BRIANCON, FRANCE, November 07, 2012 (Press-News.org) Known to many as the 'Yachting Capital of the World', Fort Lauderdale in Florida played host to the 53rd Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show last week (25th to 29th October 2012). Despite the impending threat of Hurricane Sandy, the show went ahead and many of the world's greatest Luxury Yachts for Charter were on show in all their glory.
With the worst of the storm being felt on the North East coastline of America, Sandy's impact was also felt further south with Florida suffering from treacherous rip currents, cooling air and sudden flooding.
Despite this, enthusiastic exhibitors from all corners of the Globe set up to showcase their products and services. Amongst them were luxury yacht brokers, yacht builders, interior designers and exotic car providers.
Day one attendance figures were lower than normal due to the bad weather, but once the worst affects of Hurricane Sandy had passed, numbers picked up and even produced a record number of visitors on the Saturday. Overall attendance figures for the 2012 show exceeded 100,000, testament to the many yachting enthusiasts willing to brave the storm in order to indulge their passion.
Determined not to let the cyclone dampen their spirits, many luxury yacht brokers reported an excellent week all things considered. "Despite the weather, there was a high level of optimism going into the show and that did not falter during the show, reported Kristina Hebert, president of Marine Industries Association of South Florida and owner of the boat show. "People were making deals, and boats had sold signs hanging on them," she added on the closing day of the show.
The Fort Lauderdale show's ability to weather Hurricane Sandy's effects this year is indicative of how some yachting companies have remained positive during this tough period of financial downturn.
For those who have never been to the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, it allows those attending an opportunity to get up close and personal with the Luxury Yachts for Charter and luxury yachts for sale, as well the chance to network with some of the most important and influential experts in the yachting industry. The show boasts the accolade of being the world's biggest boat show in terms of exhibit areas and stands sold, with over 3 million square feet on land and in the water.
Dates for next year's show: 31st October 2013 to 4th November 2013, hopefully next year without the threat of Hurricane Sandy.

Bankruptcy May be the Best Option
2012-11-07
With the housing-market crash and resulting economic downturn, hundreds of thousands of Americans currently find themselves in significant amounts of debt. To meet the demand for help from struggling consumers, some private companies offer debt management counseling, debt consolidation and debt management plans, also called DMPs. However, such programs and services cannot offer the same benefits as good, old-fashioned bankruptcy. Be sure to look at these programs with careful scrutiny and examine all the facts.

2012-11-07
A prenuptial agreement, also known as a premarital agreement, is a legally binding contract that dictates how a couple's assets will be distributed if their marriage ends in divorce or upon death while married. Many people believe that this legal device is only for the rich. While prenuptial agreements are useful in cases where one spouse has significant assets or property, these days, they are quite common for people with varied financial backgrounds.
Specifically, 73 percent of divorce attorneys surveyed in 2010 by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers reported ...
Minnesota Hospital Exposed for Harsh Debt Collection Practices
2012-11-07
For many people, the most difficult aspect of financial hardship is enduring creditor harassment and facing wage garnishment and other harsh consequences of debt collection. While debtors have rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and other laws, debt collectors often abuse those rights by making unauthorized contact or false representations in an attempt to speed up the process.
A high profile example of potentially illegal practices recently made headlines in Minnesota when Fairview Health Services was accused of employing harsh tactics to collect ...

Will Police Need Warrants Before Taking Forcible Blood Tests?
2012-11-07
The United States Supreme Court recently announced it will decide whether the Fourth Amendment allows law enforcement officials to force non-consenting suspects in impaired driving cases to take a blood test without first requesting a warrant.
The Fourth Amendment of the United States Constitution protects Americans from unlawful searches and seizures. This means that law enforcement cannot search you, your home, or your vehicle, without permission unless they have acquired a probable cause warrant.

A Guide to Purchasing Private Disability Insurance Coverage
2012-11-07
Though some workplaces offer disability insurance to their employees, these benefits have gotten a lot less common -- and a lot less robust -- in the economic downturn. In 2002, 59 percent of American companies paid all or part of their employees' long-term disability insurance premiums. By 2009, that number had fallen to 48 percent. As such, many Americans have turned to private disability insurance to supplement or replace employer-sponsored policies.
Private disability insurance can be a tremendous asset if an unexpected illness or disability strikes. However, coverage ...
