NEW YORK, NY, November 08, 2012 (Press-News.org) After seeing nurse Margot Condon's Hurricane Sandy heroics on Anderson Cooper's "Anderson Live", Therafit Shoe wants to thank her by donating to her unit in the NICU (newborn intensive care unit) a selection of fashion nursing shoes!
When the hospital's backup generators failed during Hurricane Sandy, the power went out losing light, elevator service and life-saving equipment including respirators. Margot and her hospital co-workers (1,000 staff members including nurses, doctors, residents and security guards) succeeded to evacuate all on-site patients of the New York University Langone Medical Center after a hospital-wide power outage. In total darkness, they descended nine flights of stairs in a close procession, holding babies and assisting patients still tethered to oxygen tanks and other life-saving equipment out of the hospital and into the throes of the hurricane. They managed to evacuate every patient safely, including 20 babies - one of which was only 8 hours old!
At Therafitshoe.com women can shop, share information about health and wellness, and most importantly, connect to an international online community of like-minded women interested in the Life/Work Balance. Four ideals are cherished at Therafit: Comfort, Customer, Charity and Community.
Therafit's complete selection is available at Therafitshoe.com as well as higher-end department stores and specialty retailers.
