Doc's Skincare for Athletes Introduces New All-Natural Chafe Stick

Convenient push-up stick targets common athletic problem: skin irritation.

2012-11-29
DALLAS, TX, November 29, 2012 (Press-News.org) Doc's Skincare for Athletes, a leader in formulating all-natural skincare products for sports competitors and everyday fitness buffs, announced today the introduction of Doc's All Natural Chafe Stick , the growing company's latest weapon against skin irritation.

"Skin irritation and chafing can threaten athletic performance as well as pleasure and can lead to serious health issues," said Doc's founder Joshua Barton, M.D., who has been a racing cyclist for more than twenty years. Doc's Skin Care is the only natural skincare company run by a practicing physician who is also a high-level competitive athlete.

"Our new chafe stick solves a lot of those friction problems and provides a whole new level of protection in chafe-prone areas for runners and triathletes, among others," said Barton.

Those vulnerable areas include "armpits, thighs, and even feet," said Barton. "Our new chafe stick is also a great tool for triathletes to transition into wetsuits and shoes."

Barton has general advice for athletes wanting to prevent skin problems. "Avoiding any kind of friction with the skin is the first step. If your skin is wet, or if you spend an extended amount of time in sweaty clothes, it can make the problem much worse.
"But regardless of the type of exercise you do, whether it be running or cycling, be sure to apply a product like Doc's All Natural Chafe Stick as a barrier against chafing."

For more health and training advice from physician-athlete Doc Barton, visit his blog.

"All the Ingredients You Need. None You Don't. Naturally."

In keeping with the Texas-based company's well-known policy of using only those healthy ingredients that are necessary and effective, avoiding useless fillers and toxic industrial chemicals, the new chafe stick uses "only 100 percent vegan products," said Barton.

Unlike other products on the market, Doc's unique products do not contain silicone or petroleum-based ingredients like mineral oil that clog pores and obstruct the skin's natural function, Barton said.

Doc's Skincare was founded in 2010 by Barton, a practicing physician, high-level competitive cyclist, and all-around endurance sportsman. The company develops and sells natural products for athletes that cover three areas of skincare: protection during sporting activities, help with repair when that protection isn't enough, and aid in normal recovery.

In addition to Doc's All Natural Chafe Stick, the company's other all-natural personal care products include its best-selling Doc's All Natural Chamois Cream, Doc's All Natural Saddle Sore Ointment, Doc's All Natural Cool Weather Embrocation, Doc's All Natural Massage Elixir, and Doc's All Natural Muscle Balm.

Doc's Skin Care products are sold in retail bike and athletic shops throughout the US and Europe, and online at Performance Bicycle, Amazon, R&A Cycles and Planet-X Bikes in the UK.
