Nick Stamoulis, the President and Founder of Brick Marketing, began offering full-day SEO workshops in Boston for business owners and marketing professionals who are responsible for managing their search engine optimization on their own. Stamoulis says that he decided to take the workshops national due to the demand for live and affordable workshops on search engine optimization. "Most books on SEO are too basic for many people looking to learn SEO while the majority of national SEO conferences are too advanced as they are designed for those working in the industry," says Stamoulis. "The full-day SEO workshops are ideal for marketing professionals, web developers, entrepreneurs and businesses of all sizes and industries."
Brick Marketing chose 10 of the largest U.S. cities to host their full-day SEO conferences to make it convenient for people across the country to attend. In addition to hosting SEO workshops in their home city of Boston, Brick Marketing will present their workshops in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, and Seattle. The workshops will be held from 9am - 5 pm local time, with multiple dates available in each city. All participants will enjoy a catered lunch that is included with registration.
The SEO workshops are divided into a morning and afternoon session. Topics that will be covered during the morning SEO session will include the basics of SEO and how search engines work; how to optimize individual web pages with Meta Tags, keywords, and URL structure; and how social media and content marketing can be integrated into an overall SEO program. Workshop participants will get to view case studies and actual examples of successful SEO campaigns.
In the afternoon, participants will be introduced to white hat link building. Workshop attendees will learn how to develop an ongoing link building strategy that works to build search engine and visitor trust, as well as how to properly conduct SEO link audits. The workshop will also introduce attendees to tips and tools that automate social media marketing and SEO processes. Additionally, participants will learn how to measure the success and ROI of their SEO efforts. At the end of each workshop, all attendees will have an SEO website review performed on their sites to help jumpstart their SEO programs.

Living cells behave like fluid-filled sponges
2013-01-07
Animal cells behave like fluid-filled sponges in response to being mechanically deformed according to new research published today in Nature Materials.
Scientists from the London Centre for Nanotechnology (LCN) at UCL have shown that animal cells behave according to the theory of 'poroelasticity' when mechanically stimulated in a way similar to that experienced in organs within the body. The results indicate that the rate of cell deformation in response to mechanical stress is limited by how quickly water can redistribute within the cell interior.
Poroelasticity was ...

Pollen exposure during pregnancy affects child's risk of early asthma
2013-01-07
A woman's exposure to high pollen levels in late pregnancy increases the risk of early asthma in the child, according to a group of researchers at Sweden's Umeå University in a recent study.
A number of studies have previously shown that there is an association with being born during a pollen season and an increased risk of allergies. Although the pollen season is a regular annual event, there are large variations between years in pollen levels. Few studies have closely examined the significance of actual pollen content in different time periods before and after birth, ...
