TORONTO, ON, January 09, 2013 (Press-News.org) Lynx Systems Inc., a consulting and IT solutions organization for real estate, is pleased to showcase Microsoft SharePoint Solutions designed specifically to handle the concerns of the real estate industry. Now, Yardi Software and MRI Software users can find answers to document management, workflow and compliance concerns through the SharePoint Solutions offered by Lynx Systems Inc.
These solutions allow users to efficiently track and manage the vast numbers of documents required to ensure compliance with all of the contractual and legislative requirements affecting their company. Lynx Solutions also help improve clients' relationships with staff, tenants, business partners and suppliers. This is a critical issue that cannot be solved by existing accounting systems, but needs to be addressed directly to allow companies to save money and to run more effectively.
Don Robinson, President at Lynx Systems notes, "After years of working with real estate clients, I've noticed a common trend. It's the ongoing struggle to effectively handle huge numbers of documents - insurance certificates, leases, contracts, invoices, resident files, checks, etc."
The sheer volume and variety of documents creates many challenges and questions with:
Control/Access Issues - Who can see the document? Who can edit the document? Is this document SECURE? Does everyone that NEEDS access to this document have ACCESS?
Versioning - Is this the CURRENT version?
Emailing - Where in my inbox is this document? My inbox is HUGE! What version is my email attachment?
Repetitive Document Generation - Creating this document from scratch every week is so REPETITIVE!
Documents getting lost in the process - Did I email that document? Who did I email it to? Was it emailed on time? Has it been approved yet? Where do I send it to next? Who needs to see it?
Finding documents - Where do I FIND this document? Who do I have to ask and whose time do I have to waste?
Documents in multiple locations - Now I need to store my documents in multiple folders so that multiple departments can find them. What a hassle!
Real estate - Amount of square footage required to store the hard copies can be costly.
Don states, "For over a decade, Lynx has been providing the best in support services for property management software users including: support, training, customizations, assessments, installation of updates, integration of 3rd party software, monitoring, hosting and conversions to name a few. Although these services continue to be a major focus for us, we have been increasingly using innovative technologies to increase our clients' efficiency."
Don continues, " Since many of our clients have similar concerns, we work with a technology that will offer them the solution - SharePoint. We currently provide a variety of SharePoint Solutions that have been specifically developed for the Real Estate Industry that effectively solve for document management problems."
The consultants at Lynx Systems guide clients through the SharePoint implementation process and can also help them streamline key processes. With years of hands-on experience with all of the property management accounting systems, the consultants at Lynx are well positioned to make their SharePoint solutions work closely with existing accounting systems. Lynx consultants will assess your requirements, define your new procedures, train your staff and tailor your solution to your specific requirements. Taking advantage of Lynx Systems' extensive industry knowledge will remove the risk and frustration associated with innovative improvement.

Fishing for Findings in Space Station Bone Health Study
2013-01-09
For centuries, people have gazed at the constellation Pisces and imagined starry fish swimming in space. Sponsored by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), the study will help scientists uncover new knowledge about human bone health in space and on Earth.
Living in the Aquatic Habitat, the Medaka (Oryzias latipes) fish serve as a model for researching the impact of microgravity environments on osteoclasts ...

Heat-resistant corals provide clues to climate change survival
2013-01-08
In a future shaped by climate change, only the strong – or heat-resistant – will survive. A study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences opens a window into a genetic process that allows some corals to withstand unusually high temperatures and may hold a key to species survival for organisms around the world.
"If we can find populations most likely to resist climate change and map them, then we can protect them," said study co-author Stephen Palumbi, a senior fellow at the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment and director of Stanford's ...
Cheap and easy technique to snip DNA could revolutionize gene therapy
2013-01-08
A simple, precise and inexpensive method for cutting DNA to insert genes into human cells could transform genetic medicine, making routine what now are expensive, complicated and rare procedures for replacing defective genes in order to fix genetic disease or even cure AIDS.
Discovered last year by Jennifer Doudna and Martin Jinek of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and University of California, Berkeley, and Emmanuelle Charpentier of the Laboratory for Molecular Infection Medicine-Sweden, the technique was labeled a "tour de force" in a 2012 review in the journal ...
Space-simulation study reveals sodium rhythms in the body
2013-01-08
Maintaining the right sodium levels in the body is crucial for controlling blood pressure and ensuring proper muscle function. Conventional wisdom has suggested that constant sodium levels are achieved through the balance of sodium intake and urinary excretion, but a new study in humans published by Cell Press on January 9th in the journal Cell Metabolism reveals that sodium levels actually fluctuate rhythmically over the course of weeks, independent of salt intake. This one-of-a-kind study, which examined cosmonauts participating in space-flight simulation studies, challenges ...
Most physicians do not meet Medicare quality reporting requirements
2013-01-08
Washington, DC – A new Harvey L. Neiman Health Policy Institute study shows that fewer than one-in-five healthcare providers meet Medicare Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) requirements. Those that meet PQRS thresholds now receive a .5 percent Medicare bonus payment. In 2015, bonuses will be replaced by penalties for providers who do not meet PQRS requirements. As it stands, more than 80 percent of providers nationwide would face these penalties.
Researchers analyzed 2007-2010 PQRS program data and found that nearly 24 percent of eligible radiologists qualified ...
Genes and obesity: Fast food isn't only culprit in expanding waistlines -- DNA is also to blame
2013-01-08
Researchers at UCLA say it's not just what you eat that makes those pants tighter — it's also genetics. In a new study, scientists discovered that body-fat responses to a typical fast-food diet are determined in large part by genetic factors, and they have identified several genes they say may control those responses.
The study is the first of its kind to detail metabolic responses to a high-fat, high-sugar diet in a large and diverse mouse population under defined environmental conditions, modeling closely what is likely to occur in human populations. The researchers ...
