Jennifer Bosser Receives "40 Under 40" Award In Economic Development

The Assistant Executive Director Of Wake County Economic Development Recognized By Development Counsellors International

ORLANDO, FL, January 30, 2013 (Press-News.org) Wake County Economic Development (WCED) (http://www.raleigh-wake.org/home), a program of the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce and the primary economic development organization for Wake County and its 12 municipalities, has announced that Assistant Executive Director Jennifer Bosser, has been selected as a winner in the economic development profession's "40 Under 40" awards, the first-ever awards program recognizing young talent in the economic development profession.

As the assistant executive director for WCED, Bosser oversees day-to-day operations, manages overall strategic initiatives, and leads the recruitment and retention of life science companies in Wake County as well as the Regional Triangle's Talent Attraction initiative Work In The Triangle, Smarter From Any Angle. Prior to joining WCED, Bosser served as vice president of executive engagement and enterprise strategy with the North Carolina Technology Association, a statewide trade association serving the state's technology industry. Bosser moved to North Carolina in 2005, from Washington, D.C., where she worked in a variety of economic development positions including overseeing the District of Columbia's existing industry retention and outreach program under Mayor Anthony Williams at the Washington, DC Economic Development Partnership.

A five-member selection committee chose the winner from a pool of more than 150 candidates based on their exceptional contributions to the economic development industry. The award's program was managed by Development Counsellors International (DCI), a New York-based firm that specializes in economic development marketing. DCI's "40 Under 40" award identifies and recognizes the economic development profession's rising stars. DCI officially announced the winners at an awards reception during the International Economic Development Council Leadership Summit in Orlando on Sunday, Jan. 27. All award winners will be featured in an in-depth profile on the DCI website throughout 2013.
