Boston Tax Attorneys Host Pre-Tax Season Seminar

Estate planning and compliance under a new paradigm....a look back and a look forward.

2013-02-04
BOSTON, MA, February 04, 2013 (Press-News.org) Cushing & Dolan, P.C. cordially invites you to its special pre-tax season seminar.

This seminar is will cover a range of tax issues including: spousal limited access trusts (slats), gift tax return issues, gift splitting, sample returns, revocable trust planning, Medicaid planning with traditional estate planning, portability, and the Uniform Trust Code.

It is estimated that over 500,000 gift tax returns will be filed in 2013 for gifts made in 2012. A similar number of new fiduciary income tax returns will need to be filed. The new Massachusetts Uniform Trust Code, enacted on July 8, 2012, requires that qualified beneficiaries be kept reasonably informed by the trustees. Mistakes in preparing gift tax returns, fiduciary income tax returns, and failure to comply with the UTC can have serious adverse consequences.
