NEW SOUTH WALES, AUSTRALIA, February 13, 2013 (Press-News.org) RAMS today announced it will waive application fees and settlement fees for first home buyers. RAMS will also waive the account keeping fees on its RAMS Low Rate Home Loan with Introductory Rate Option, during the introductory rate period. These new offers could help first home buyers save up to $1,590 off the cost of their first home.*
On top of this, the already low RAMS 2-Year fixed home loan rate has been cut to 5.25% p.a. (comparison rate 6.41% p.a.) from 5.39% p.a. from today - one of the most competitive rates in the market.
RAMS Chief Executive, Melos Sulicich said these savings are good news for more than two thirds of Australian first home buyers (FHBs) who told us rent is too expensive (71% up from 65% in quarter 3, 2012)** and they are struggling to meet rental repayments and save for a deposit.
"We understand the frustrations of First Home Buyers who tell us they are in a rental rut and are delaying purchasing a property due to their inability to afford repayments and fears of unemployment in an uncertain economy.
"We have listened to their concerns and created genuine options designed to renew first home buyer confidence and reignite their passion and drive to take the first step to home ownership," Mr Sulicich said.
Other ways RAMS can assist first home buyers includes:
- You only need a 5% deposit with a full doc loan, plus funds to cover transaction costs, if you meet our other lending criteria
- Taking rental repayment history into account to assess your ability to repay a loan
- Helping with the paperwork if you qualify for First Home Buyer Government Grants
- RAMS Fast Track feature where parents or siblings of the borrower provide a limited guarantee supported by a registered first mortgage over their own property to enable first home buyers to avoid paying mortgage insurance which can save thousands of dollars upfront.
Mr Sulicich said: "With historic low interest rates, housing prices relatively stable and lack of demand, good value housing is available for the savvy and responsible buyer.
"We encourage Australians who are serious about getting into their own home to talk to one of our local home loan experts. I'm sure many people would be surprised at how we can help them realise their dream of getting the key to their very own home sooner."
RAMS will launch its first home buyers' marketing campaign this Sunday with national prime time TV commercials featuring the helpful mate and RAMbassador, Raymond A Ram offering home loan advice to first home buyers.
