He joined Harrison College in 2007 as corporate director of enrollment management before being promoted to vice president of enrollment in 2010. Active in his community, Kaopuiki is a member of Northview Church in Carmel, Ind., and volunteers with Kids Against Hunger of Central Indiana, a nonprofit humanitarian food-aid organization dedicated to ending hunger in the United States and abroad, as well as teaching children the life-changing power of volunteerism.

"We are excited to welcome Ryon to The Chef's Academy after his years of dedicated service to Harrison College," said Tony Hanslits, national dean of The Chef's Academy. "His strong higher education background and proven leadership will speak to prospective students in a way that showcases the excellence inherent in an education from The Chef's Academy, and how we equip students with the opportunity to surpass their culinary and pastry goals. Additionally, Ryon will play an integral role in the community outreach that has made us a respected institution in Indianapolis and beyond."
"Being campus president will allow me to advocate for the mission and vision of The Chef's Academy not only in the greater Indianapolis area, but to students and partners throughout the country," said Kaopuiki. "Strengthening relationships with our community partners and building relationships with Indianapolis businesses and nonprofits will benefit our students as they prepare to enter the workforce by giving them real-world experience. The Chef's Academy and its programs are highly regarded throughout the culinary community, and I look forward to continuing to expand its reputation both regionally and nationally."
