SARASOTA, FL, March 02, 2013 (Press-News.org) Rosedale Golf & Country Club recently completed a multi-year renovation of its clubhouse, trading its dated "Florida casual" look for an elegant makeover highlighted by dark woods, traditional details and a rich color palette.
Prompted in part by member request and by management's desire for an updated style, the extensive renovation project included all new carpeting, furniture, paint, wall coverings and artwork. Major purchases were made from U.S. companies, and all five of the project's subcontractors were from the local area.
While no structural changes were made to the building, the clubhouse did undergo a top-to-bottom transformation. Gone are the rattan woods and soft shades of pink and mauve. The new look features warm browns and tans on the walls and woodwork, with striking new artwork and four distinctive chandeliers. Dark wood chairs with deep red and gold coverings are grouped around matching tables, which are set with dramatic champagne linens and rust-colored napkins.
Member approval of the improvements has been nearly unanimous, according to clubhouse manager Charles Nehls. "The impact of all the changes is quite remarkable," he said "It's like a brand-new clubhouse. Very traditional and yet with a modern edge. We're more than pleased with the results."
Input and suggestions from members and staff were considered during the design process, with final decisions being made by Robert Hunt, president of The Hunt Group, the developer of Rosedale and owner of the clubhouse and golf facilities. Total budget for the interior renovations was $300,000, with additional funds being spent for a new HVAC system.
Originally built in 1995, the 22,000-square-foot clubhouse is the undisputed social centerpiece of the country club, a place where members meet for lunch and dinner, socialize with neighbors, and enjoy elaborate Sunday brunches. It is also a popular venue for wedding receptions, banquets and other special events.
