Sunday sees the return of The Boat Race, a highly competitive race between London's two most prestigious universities. A few miles away, just as the two rowing crews are preparing to embark on the gruelling four-mile course, two feisty goats - one named Oxford, the other Cambridge - will be psyching up for a nail-biting race. Returning for its fifth year, the Oxford vs Cambridge Goat Race is a quirky spin-off event that provides a day of family-friendly goat-related activities, food, live music and market stalls.

From burgers sourced from the British Isles to all the spices of South East Asia, it will be a real feast for all palates.

The Easter weekend also sees the opening of the British Museum's 'Life and Death in Pompeii and Herculaneum' exhibition. Displaying over 250 objects from two cities buried by an eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD79, the exhibition conveys what every day Roman life was like nearly 1700 years ago. Also looking back in time is the Found Footage Festival. A celebration of the humble VHS, this festival presents a humorous showcase of old video tapes found across North America's thrift shops and garage sales.

Families have a couple of options this weekend in London. Firstly, Zippos Circus returns to the capital with new aerial acts, Brazilian motorbike riders and Cuban acrobatics. While Wallace and Gromit also return with their new live, interactive show 'Musical Marvels'. The show will screen a number of classical favourites from the dynamic duo as well as specially filmed backstage footage and Wallace's new work, 'My Concerto in Eee, Lad'.

The Boxpark in Shoreditch welcomes another pop up event this week in the form of Popin' Pete's Pop Shop. Welcoming the renowned American street dancer to join a number of UK artists, this six-day event incorporates street dance performances, workshops, talks, live artwork, battles and jams.
