Change Making Change Selects Keep A Child Alive for April Donations

Change Making Change Helps AIDS Victims and Orphans in Africa and India

SEATTLE, WA, April 04, 2013

Change Making Change Fund, (CMC) a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children around the world through the collection of pocket change, today announced that Keep A Child Alive will be the recipient of non-designated donations in April 2013. All non-designated money donated this month to Change Making Change through convenient Coinstar kiosks will support a global effort to provide treatment, food and orphan care to those affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India.

Co-founded by actress and musician Alicia Keys and Leigh Blake in 2003, Keep A Child Alive currently funds eight clinical and orphan care sites in five countries. Two of its projects include the Centreville Clinic in Rwanda and Operation Bobbi Bear in South Africa.

"Keep A Child Alive continues to shine a light on the fact that over 30 million people have died of AIDS, leaving an overwhelming need for orphan care and services," noted Rich Stillman, founder and executive director, Change Making Change. "Through this organization, small change can truly make a big difference in the life of a child."

To participate, drop spare change at a local Coinstar kiosk that is programmed to accept donations and select Change Making Change Fund as the recipient.

About Keep A Child Alive

Keep a Child Alive provides AIDS treatment, support, nutrition and love to children and families affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India. Antiretroviral (ARV) treatment can transform the lives of people with AIDS, returning them to health from illness. However, millions of people still don't have access to treatment, including 72% of the children who need it for their survival. Keep A Child Alive funds more than just the pills necessary to fight HIV/AIDS by providing the necessary nutrition and support to ensure the treatment is taken properly and is effective, particularly for children. Keep A Child Alive currently provides funding to eight clinical and orphan care sites in five countries: India, Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa and Uganda; with previous projects in Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali, Zimbabwe and South Africa that have been successfully scaled up to new levels of service and sustainability within their communities.
