Global Monitoring Reintroduces Remote Monitor Units Under Messenger Brand Name

Global Monitoring reintroduces its GMU 8100 Remote Monitor under the Messenger brand name.

2013-04-06
SPRINGFIELD, PA, April 06, 2013 (Press-News.org) Global Monitoring reintroduces its GMU 8100 Remote Monitor under the Messenger brand name. The Messenger remote monitoring units are designed to track and react to conditions at remote, unattended or inaccessible locations.

Messenger brand remote monitoring units were originally introduced by Dancer Communications more then 20 years prior to its acquisition. Steve Sanislo, founder of Global Monitoring who was also founder of Dancer Communications, resurrected the Messenger brand to distinguish its remote monitoring units among others on the market.

Offering dial-up communications, the Messenger 8100 Remote Monitors are land-line based, using common telephone lines that ideal for use in applications where Wifi, ZigBee or other communications networks are not readily available or as part of a current facility infrastructure such as remote, unattended facilities. The Messenger also supports OEM vendors needing to monitor their third-part services at customer locations without taping into their customer communication networks.

Configurable to a wide variety of sensor types and expandable to 16 inputs, the Messenger 8100 Remote Monitors track conditions such as such temperature, humidity, voltage, air quality, sound level, occupancy, vibration, level and flow to perform various remote control tasks. The Remote Monitoring Units (RMUs) deliver information to computer, phone or fax and communicates via standard phone-line interface, or via optional cellular data or Ethernet interfaces.

With land-line based communications, the Messenger 8100 Remote Monitor reduces or eliminates ongoing communications costs as it shares existing phone or fax lines. While competitive systems may require ongoing use of proprietary and costly monitoring services or communications network, the Messenger 8100 RMU operates autonomously and does not require the expertise of a computer tech or IT professional for set up or maintenance.

Global Monitoring is expanding its Messenger Remote Monitor offering with an 8200 Series that works with cellular communications and an 8300 Series Remote Monitor with satellite communications.
