PHILADELPHIA, PA, April 18, 2013

As an amateur golfer who has played in several charitable golf events, Troy Ian Reddell knows how much pressure exists on the green. And while Reddell is able to navigate the professional world of finance with proficiency, he recognizes that those who make their careers in the game of golf face a whole other set of unique challenges on the job. With a respect for the performance pro golfers deliver, Reddell reflects on the current speculations on the direction of Tiger Woods, the 37-year-old golf giant who has announced he believes he has what it takes to beat the record for most major championships won--a title currently held by golf legend Jack Nicklaus.

A recent article from Yahoo Sports details the apprehension felt by the sports world and fans alike, as Woods follows closely behind Nicklaus record of 18 majors, having won 14 in his career. As the Augusta National approaches next week, many fans, such as Troy Ian Reddell, are waiting to see if Woods has the focus to turn amp up his current performance level. While many recognize that Woods has made a great mark for his career throughout his many years as a pro golfer, Yahoo recognizes that he does face some challenges indicated by his most recent past. The article explains, "But since 2008 Tiger has won exactly zero majors, [having come] the closest at the '09 PGA Championship but finishing in the top-10 only once a season ago at the big four."

Although Yahoo suggests that Woods "has learned to win again" and many anticipate a brighter future for him in upcoming championships, Troy Ian Reddell recognizes that the pro athlete has other challenges set against him--namely those involving his infidelity scandal that swarmed the media. However, Reddell believes Woods has what it takes and is marked even more of a champion for his ability to overcome these setbacks. Troy Ian Reddell states, "There can be no question that Tiger Woods is the greatest golfer the game has ever seen whether he breaks Nicklaus' majors record or not. You do get a sense if he has a breakthrough victory many more may follow. Everyone makes mistakes in life and you have to admire the fact that he has been able to overcome the very public adversity that he has been through and he is finding a way to succeed again on and off the golf course."

While the record-breaking success of Tiger Woods remains to be seen, Reddell believes that whether or not he is able to reach his goal, Woods will still have made a solid mark in the golfing world. "Much as Michael Jordan did for basketball, Tiger Woods has increased golf's worldwide standing to the point it has now attracted a broader and more competitive global competition and will now also now be recognised as an Olympic Sport," Troy Ian Reddell concludes.
