TORINO, ITALY, April 18, 2013 (Press-News.org) Wi-Next, the Italian company founded in 2007 as a start-up of the Polytechnic of Turin, has been awarded the Red Herring Top 100 Europe Award. The Award ceremony was held in Amsterdam on April 10th. Wi-Next has also been included in the USA Top 100 Award, which will be held from May 21st to 23rd. Red Herring's Top 100 Europe list has become a mark of distinction for identifying promising new companies: among the prize-winners in previous editions there are names like Facebook, eBay, Yahoo and Skype.
"We are particularly proud of this award. Wi-Next is born from our desire to change the market's standards, based on the conventions imposed by the big vendors, which limited the competitiveness", said Nicola De Carne, CEO of Wi-Next. "We created new business models reinterpreting regular technologies. Nowadays outsourcing is the watchword, but companies must work to create value on their territory. Wi-Next did it producing its whole hardware at a local level", added De Carne.
"Selecting startups that show the most potential for disruption and growth is never easy", said Alex Vieux, publisher and CEO of Red Herring. "We looked at hundreds and hundreds of candidates from all across the continent, and after much thought and debate, narrowed the list down to the Top 100 Winners. Each year, the competition gets tougher but we believe Wi-Next demonstrates the vision, drive and innovation that define a Red Herring winner", he added.
On the occasion of the event, Wi-Next presented in Europe Naawigo, the new family of Wi-Fi devices entirely made in Turin. Naawigo represents the new era of Mesh networks. They enable the creation of local ecosystems in wireless communications, and they are able to modulate network services on specific project requirements. With Naawigo, Wi-Next - a Proudly Made in Italy center of excellence - strengthens a business model characterized by proprietary hardware and software integrated into a single solution.
The presentation was not only limited to the new range of products launched in early 2013. In Amsterdam, Wi-Next has also announced the launch of a new Research & Development activity, in partnership with the specialized company Replan. The project is about the production of a plastic box, 100% recycled from Tetra Pak, for all wireless equipment branded Wi-Next.
Wi-Next is one of the most innovative Italian Wi-Fi Vendors. Born in 2007 as a research and development project of the Polytechnic of Turin, Wi-Next manufactures and sells Wi-Fi equipment for SMB and Enterprise applications through a network of Partners and Distributors in Italy and abroad. This year Wi-Next is expanding its offer with Naawigo, the new family of products entirely designed and produced in Italy by its Team, and with Cloud Network Manager: two products that will boost the operations of Wi-Next in the European enterprise market.
