"The truth is always beautiful," says the Koinobi, the alien that bears a resemblance to a parasitic wasp. Despite her appearance and need to live inside her human host, Tweeskzaht is a complex and intelligent creature capable of great love and also great violence.Weaving a story that is both introspective and electrifying, author Reid Minnich's new science fiction novel, Koinobi, appeals not only to science fiction fans, but to anyone who enjoys a well-told tale.
Earth is a forgotten dot that marks the old frontline in a galactic war that has raged for millennia. Tweeskzaht has been marooned for thousands of years, and, except for her hosts, she has remained hidden from the humans, surreptitiously advancing their civilization and waiting for the day she can come out of hiding.
Mike's degenerative disease left him in a wheelchair with the certain knowledge that his life could end at any time. Working as a freelance computer technician from his home, he is cut off from the world he longs to join and the life he craves.
When a beautiful attorney comes into his life telling him he has been chosen to be the executor for a man he never met, Mike is torn between taking a crazy chance with the alien parasite or continuing on his current known path.
Mike's decision, he finds out, is not only for his personal liberation from his deteriorating body with the help of Tweeskzaht, but for the chance to reroute Earth from an inevitable fate. Freedom, however, comes with a very high cost that involves not only his own life but the lives of people he has come to care about.
Koinobi will be released in paperback and e-book editions on April 19, 2013 through Word Branch Publishing.
