Beverly Hills Dentist, Parsa Zadeh DDS, Offers Various Sedation Options
2013-06-04
BEVERLY HILLS, CA, June 04, 2013 (Press-News.org) Dr. Parsa Zadeh, Beverly Hills dentist, is pleased to offer several options for sedation to his patients. Dr. Zadeh understands that for some patients, a trip to the dentist comes with extreme anxiety and even phobic responses. In other cases, a dental procedure or dental surgery may necessitate the use of sedation to prevent discomfort. This is why Dr. Zadeh offers more than one option for sedation.

Among the sedation options that Dr. Zadeh, Beverly Hills dentist, offers is nitrous oxide. Nitrous oxide, otherwise known as laughing gas, is safe to use for most patients because the levels of the gas are easily adjusted to provide more or less sedation. In addition, this option has the advantage of dulling pain and anxiety but leaving the patient awake and able to respond to commands from the dentist. This makes some dental procedures, such as wisdom tooth extractions, easier to perform.

Dr. Zadeh also offers oral medications and injections for sedation. Medications offer various levels of sedation, which can be useful for complex dental surgeries. Injections can be used to numb areas of the mouth. These injections do not render the patient unconscious. As a result, shots are often used for minor dental work, such as filling cavities.

Finally, Dr. Zadeh, Beverly Hills dentist, offers IV sedation for patients who are extremely fearful or phobic, or who are about to undergo a dental procedure such as having a dental implants placed. IV sedation is only offered by a handful of highly qualifies dentists in the region because it requires special training before a dentist is permitted to employ it in their office. This type of sedation will leave the patient deeply relaxed but still able to respond to commands. However, the patient will be unlikely to remember the procedure after it is finished.

Proposal seeks lower alcohol limit for Ohio OVI/DUI

2013-06-04
Last month, the National Transportation Safety Board came out with a recommendation to lower the minimum blood alcohol content (BAC) level, at which a person is considered to be legally under the influence of alcohol, thereby changing the definition of a drunk driver. The agency argued that the current .08 BAC is too high and advocates for lowering it to .05 to reduce the number of accidents. While the federal agency can make such a broad recommendation, each state will need to change its own laws and this generally takes many years. In Ohio, the current blood alcohol ...

In some cases, it is more dangerous to slam on the brakes and stop especially on fast moving roads. If the light turns red before your vehicle clears the intersection, it could mean a red-light camera citation. An investigation by a Tampa CBS news affiliate WTSP found that cities and counties across the state have actually ...

Psychologist argues biological makeup big reason behind life of crime

2013-06-04
When it comes to the propensity to commit crimes, many people assume that it is an individual's life circumstances that cause him or her to commit a violent crime. So it makes sense for those convicted of crimes to be "rehabilitated" so they can be productive members of society after they complete their jail sentences or probationary terms, right? An author of a new book entitled: The Anatomy of Violence, The Biological Roots of Crime, isn't so sure. The contents of his recent book have sparked a public discussion about the nature versus nurture debate and ...
