ATLANTA, GA, March 17, 2014 (Press-News.org) The plantation shutters provider, Eclipse Shutters, would like to take a moment to talk about a new window covering trend that is becoming quite popular.
Many homeowners have a hard time deciding on a window coverings. Shutters have long remained one of the best options due to their versatility and aesthetic appeal. Roman shades, wooden blinds and drapes are competing choices as well, so how do you decide which will work best for your needs?
Best of Both Worlds
To answer the question, a lot of people have decided to mix and match window covering styles. While traditional themes aim to achieve uniformity, combining interior vinyl shutters with Roman shades, for example, is just one of the many styles that are trending in the new year because they allow you to fully customize your windows to your lighting and decor needs.
Unconventional marriages of materials are not just for looks. Plantation shutters are highly energy-efficient on their own (due to being manufactured to custom-fit your windows), but adding thick drapes can also assist in keeping heat out during the summer and from escaping in the winter.
For those who have made the bold move to incorporate multiple window covering materials, many have found that they complement one another rather well. Curtains and shades can add soft elegance or a pop of color, while shutters bring practicality and simplicity to the equation.
According to Shannon Hodges, Business Manager for the Eclipse Shutters, "If you want to change things up and bring new light to your home, get on board with this new interior design trend. At Eclipse Shutters, we have a huge selection of faux wood shutters to help achieve this fashionable look."
