DENVER, CO, April 10, 2014 (Press-News.org) The inaugural running of The bRUNch Run 5K is scheduled for Sunday, September 28 at 9:30 a.m. at Stapleton Central Park in Denver. This brand new event hosted by bRUNch Running is a timed 5K race with post-race brunch festival.
"Food plays an integral role in a runner's lifestyle," said bRUNch Running co-founder Alexandra Weissner. "After a race you are most often greeted with a plain bagel, a banana and a light beer. We want to change that. Using the same model as our weekly bRUNch runs, The bRUNch Run 5k event will feature an awesome morning run followed by a brunch themed festival showcasing local restaurants, craft beer and spirits."
The race will start and finish at Stapleton Central Park. This fast, flat course, will take runners through the park and into Stapleton's beautiful neighborhood. Prizes will be awarded for the top three finishers in each age category and best breakfast themed costume.
After the race, runners and spectators alike will enjoy a brunch themed festival featuring small bites and delicious beer and cocktails from some of Denver's best restaurants and breweries such as Vesper Lounge and Lou's Food Bar.
The entry fee for the race starts at $40. Non-runner tickets start at $30. A portion of proceeds from ticket sales benefit Metro CareRing.
