Screenwriter Don Macnab-Stark hired to re-write "Rabid"

British screenwriter Don Macnab-Stark has been hired to re-write "Rabid", the latest film from Planet Four Productions. Shooting in Michigan, "Rabid" will be directed by indy director Brian Lawrence.

BOWERS GIFFORD, ENGLAND, December 06, 2010 (Press-News.org) British screenwriter Don Macnab-Stark has been hired to re-write "Rabid", the latest film from Planet Four Productions. Shooting in Michigan, "Rabid" will be directed by indy director Brian Lawrence.

"Rabid" tells the story of Vaughn, a soldier returning home from Afghanistan after six years to find his small town dramatically changed - the local factory is on the verge of closure, and immigrants are taking most of the available jobs.

While his friends look to him to put things right, Vaughn tries to turn back the clock, with ultimately tragic consequences.

"Rabid is a classic story" says Don. "It deals with universal themes that people can relate to - coming home, dealing with other people's expectations - played out against contemporary issues such as a difficult economy, gun rights, and the tea party and militia movements."

Continues Don: "Making a film is a collaborative process, so it was a pleasure taking Brian's original script and looking for ways to strengthen the story while respecting the ideas and themes that inspired the story in the first place."

Based in Essex, England, Don Macnab-Stark is a screenwriter, script doctor and consultant who has consulted with dozens of producers, directors and writers in the past five years, helping them to improve and develop their scripts.

You can learn more about Don at his website, The Art of Screenwriting, or e-mail him at: don@theartofscreenwriting.com
