NEW YORK, NY, December 28, 2010 (Press-News.org) President Todd Rowe MD, MD(H) of the non-profit American Medical College of Homeopathy in Phoenix will ring The Closing Bell of NASDAQ December 29th. The ceremony recognizes the opening of the first homeopathic medical school and doctoral program in Phoenix, and increases awareness of the importance of homeopathic medicine.
"This is a unique opportunity for the homeopathic community to come together and bring necessary attention to the homeopathic college and homeopathic medicine," said AMCH president, Dr. Todd Rowe. Homeopathic organizations and supporters are joining AMCH in celebration of homeopathic medicine and the establishment of the homeopathic medical school. These include the National Center for Homeopathy (www.homeopathic.org), the Council for Homeopathic Certification (www.homeopathicdirectory.com), the American Institute of Homeopathy (www.homeopathyusa.org), Homeopaths Without Borders (www.homeopathswithoutborders-na.org), Hahnemann Laboratories (www.hahnemannlabs.com), Homeopathic Nurses Association (www.nursehomeopaths.org) and Jeremy Sherr (www.dynamis.edu/new/jeremy.html).
A recent study in the New England Journal of Medicine showed over 50% of the public now routinely use alternative medicine. The public is seeking methods of healing that are safer and less expensive than conventional medicine. Homeopathic medicine is the second most common form of alternative medicine in the world today and the fastest growing. It is holistic, scientifically-based, safe to use, inexpensive and curative of chronic disease. Since its inception, homeopathy has benefited people from all walks of life and in countries all over the world. In the United States, homeopathic medicines are also regulated by the FDA.
"Ringing the bell at NASDAQ is a great reminder that the investment in the education of our healthcare community is one that always offers a guaranteed return year after year," said Dr. Todd Rowe. "AMCH is making a tremendous difference in patients' lives every day, while also helping to train future practitioners. We are working to meet the growing demand for alternative healthcare practitioners in the United States to make homeopathic medicine more available to the public."
AMCH offers several courses, including the first of its kind doctoral program which is scheduled to launch February 2011. This full-time program provides the most comprehensive homeopathic education in the nation, spanning four years and includes 4280 hours of curriculum and clinical training.
Over the past five years, AMCH has raised more than $1 million to support AMCH's mission of promoting quality homeopathic education, research and clinical care. AMCH is seeking additional funding as part of its capital campaign. Visit http://www.AMCofH.org to read and learn more about AMCH.
