LateRooms.com - Stephen K Amos Heading to Bournemouth

Bournemouth's Pavilion Theatre is set to welcome funnyman Stephen K Amos on February 5th.

2010-12-28
BOURNEMOUTH, ENGLAND, December 28, 2010 (Press-News.org) Top comedian Stephen K Amos could give people a reason to book Bournemouth hotels next year.

Fresh from completing his first series for BBC2, the London-born funnyman is heading back out on the road to deliver his trademark witty observations at venues around the country.

He will unveil his new show The Best Medicine at Bournemouth's Pavilion Theatre on Saturday February 5th 2011.

Amos has enjoyed a breakthrough year with his new BBC show, but the performer has been a familiar face on the London comedy circuit for many years.

He is also a regular at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and delivered a particularly acclaimed show there in 2006, when he spoke about his sexuality for the first time on stage.

Now openly gay, Amos fronted a documentary about homophobia in black British communities that was broadcast by Channel 4.

However, he remains most famous for his comedy, with appearances on Live at the Apollo and the Royal Variety Performance helping to solidify his reputation as one of the nation's top stand-up acts.

Tickets for the show in Bournemouth, which is due to begin at 20:00 GMT, are priced at GBP18.50.

For more information on this event, visit the Bournemouth International Centre website or contact the venue on 0844 576 3000.

Not all infant formulas are alike: Differential effects on weight gain

2010-12-27
PHILADELPHIA (December 27, 2010) – New findings from the Monell Center reveal that weight gain of formula-fed infants is influenced by the type of formula the infant is consuming. The findings have implications related to the infant's risk for the development of obesity, diabetes and other diseases later in life. "Events early in life have long-term consequences on health and one of the most significant influences is early growth rate," said study lead author Julie Mennella, Ph.D., a developmental psychobiologist at Monell. "We already know that formula-fed babies gain ...
