MILL VALLEY, CA, December 30, 2010 (Press-News.org) The International Academy of Baby Planner Professionals is pleased to announce its' recent expansion with the International Maternity Institute, an online educational portal for maternity and childbirth professionals.
"Even in a down economy, we are seeing an increased demand for certified baby planners and childbirth professionals," said Mary Oscategui, founder of The International Maternity Institute (IMI). "The International Maternity Institute was specifically designed to meet that demand and equip those interested in or already working in a maternity, childbirth or parent education career with the knowledge, skills and tools they need to be successful."
The International Maternity Institute will focus on educating students in the areas of coaching, stress management, business and green birth education. With a curriculum developed by industry leaders, courses offered through the Institute are designed to support doulas, lactation consultants, nannies, childbirth educators, sleep consultants, nurses and parent coaches. Additionally the Institute will provide a variety of continuing education programming that will supplement and support the growth of industry related businesses.
As a subdivision of the International Maternity Institute, the International Academy of Baby Planner Professionals, a professional organization for those in the baby planning industry, will continue to lead and represent professional baby planners as well as set the standards for the Institute's baby planner certifications and educational programming.
Through eco-friendly initiatives, diverse educational programming, professional networking and a commitment to professional excellence, the International Maternity Institute's equips students to empower expecting and new parents to make the best decisions for themselves and their babies by utilizing the support, information, and resources made available by certified maternity and childbirth professionals.

Baby Planner Business Professional (Level 1). A certification for those interested in learning how to launch, operate, maintain and grow their own baby planning business.
Baby Planner Advanced Professional Certification (Level 2). An advanced certification for baby planners and childbirth professionals who have a business background and experience working with expecting and new parents.
Greenproofing Certification. A certification designed for individuals interested in incorporating eco-friendly practices into their maternity profession. Certified greenproofers educate couples who are trying to conceive, are expecting and are new parents on eco-friendly parenting and toxic free living.
Stress Management Certification. A certification designed for those interested in incorporating specific strategies and techniques for helping their clients manage stress effectively.
Parent Coach Certification.
