Nicholas Creative Launches Wonderlic-Inspired Quiz for Football Fans
2010-12-30
EAST LANSING, MI, December 30, 2010 (Press-News.org) Michigan web design company Nicholas Creative developed a tool this football season that mimics the Wonderlic Cognitive Ability Test (WCAT) that future NFL players take prior to each year's draft to evaluate their intelligence. The "Are you Smarter Than A Football Player?" quiz invites fans to measure their own smarts and receive a ranking based on famous football players' scores.

The WCAT is a twelve-minute, fifty-question test used to measure the test taker's aptitude for learning. The NFL uses this test to assess potential players' levels of intelligence. Historically, only one player in the NFL has received a perfect score, former Cincinnati Bengals punter and wide receiver Pat McInally.

Despite the test's effectiveness to measure basic intelligence throughout a variety of occupations, the results do not always correlate to success on the field. Former Michigan quarterback Drew Henson scored a 42, a very high score, but he never made an impact in the NFL. On the other hand, longtime Raiders placekicker Sebastian Janikowski scored a 9 and has had a long, successful career.

The Nicholas Creative test based on the real WCAT is scaled down to 15 questions that must be answered in 3 minutes and 36 seconds. Upon completion, the test compares you to an NFL player who scored similarly. To take the test, visit www.nicholascreative.com/footballiq and click the "Start Quiz" button.

Auto Experts Note, No Such Thing as a 'Voluntary Recall'

2010-12-30
Virtually every motor vehicle recall ever issued has been described by the manufacturer as "voluntary." The reality is that there's no such thing as a voluntary recall. The New York Times reports that carmakers have no choice when it comes to recalls. If they don't "voluntarily" recall defective cars, pick-up trucks or SUVs, the federal government immediately forces them to do so. A Meaningless Term Safety consultant Allan Kam told the Times that word "voluntarily" has little meaning when it comes to recalls of defective vehicles. "It's like saying I voluntarily ...
