AMMAN, JORDAN, January 04, 2011 (Press-News.org) Once again, "Hikmat Road Safety" delivered on its promise to complete 500 football fields within public schools across Jordan serving more than 150,000 children. It accomplished this in an astonishing record six months overcoming many hurdles and obstacles in a determined and professional way.

These fields provide an outlet for Jordanian children to play safely away from road traffic, stay away from any negative influence of streets, lead a healthy life through exercise, learn to team and how to deal with failure . All of this for a cost of less than one US dollar per child.
On his part, Mr. Maher Kaddoura, founder of "Hikmat Road Safety," said: "We are demonstrating that through smart and hard work, effective collaboration with government, local communities and
supporters, we can overcome challenges and deliver results on the ground with less talk and complain. We will continue to work closely with our partners Ministry of Education, Greater Amman Municipality, and Central Traffic Department to complete additional 500 fields by early summer making the total 1000 fields serving more than 300,000 children."

Over New Year's weekend, a unit of the city's police department set up a number of checkpoints across the city where drivers were asked to show proof of insurance. "Private" Posts To Social Media Discoverable in Lawsuits?

2011-01-04
Every day millions of people log on to Facebook and MySpace to post pictures of adventures and everyday events, update friends on life's happenings, and express thoughts and feelings. While using these new online social media, most assume that since they selected "private" status for their accounts, and because they only share information and pictures with their friends and family, that those who are not meant to see this information won't. But this thinking may be flawed. Consider the logistics of keeping private the sheer volume of information flowing from social-media ...

2011-01-04
When most people hear Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and public health concerns used in the same sentence, they often think of preventable illnesses and communicable diseases. They do not think about motor vehicle accidents or injuries sustained in car crashes. But automobile collisions are a public health problem. The CDC has identified six public health concerns as "winnable battles" -- one of those six targeted areas includes injuries from motor vehicle accidents. This designation means there will be increased attention and resources focused on preventing ...

Teen Driving Safety Promoted in Arizona Through the Driving Skills for Life Program

2011-01-04
With almost 3,000 teenagers killed in motor vehicle accidents in 2009 and another 350,000 injured, it is no surprise that car accidents are the leading cause of death for teens aged 15-19, according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Even though drivers in this age group represent only 4 percent of the licensed drivers in Arizona, they account for 10 percent of motor vehicle accidents. In an effort to reduce these statistics and promote safe driving, on-hands safety training was provided via the "Driving Skills for Life" program held early November in Chandler. Driving ...
