The venue
Situated on the lush eastern slopes of Table Mountain, covering over 500 ha, is the world famous Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Apart from being the oldest botanical gardens on the planet, they also carry the reputation of being the most beautiful.
Over 9000 indigenous plant species are carefully cultivated in the landscaped gardens which seamlessly blend in with the fynbos vegetation of the Cape Floral Kingdom, a proclaimed World Heritage Site.
Each year in summer the gardens host a variety of concerts designed to coincide with the sunset. Music lovers gather in the breathtaking open-air setting with a picnic and a bottle of the finest Cape wine to enjoy a host of local and international performances which cover all music genres.
