ORLANDO, FL, February 18, 2011 (Press-News.org) The Orlando, Florida based company's offer comes in response to numerous questions posed to Workable Solutions about the detailed operational components and processes involved in running the exchanges envisioned in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA). The law requires that states have exchanges operational by January 1, 2014.
Workable Solutions administers several open choice benefit programs. Since 1999, the company has been the sole administrator of HealthPass New York, a not-for-profit exchange for small businesses. Launched through a unique collaboration between the City of New York and the New York Business Group on Health, the HealthPass choice model offers more than 20 different medical options from four insurance carriers, two dental plans and a bundled security product.
"There's no manual for how to set up these complex operations and very few people have any real world experience," says Workable Solutions' CEO Terry McCorvie. "That's why we decided to share what we've learned since we started administering exchanges back in the 1990s. We're willing to come and speak, schedule a conference call, host a webinar, or just be a sounding board for questions and ideas."
McCorvie served as executive director of the Orlando and Jacksonville Community Health Purchasing Alliances (CHPA) in the mid to late '90s and knows firsthand the impact market forces can have on the success of the program. In addition to McCorvie, senior management includes CIO Ray West, COO Steve Bell and CFO Mark Coleman, all of whom have over ten years of benefit administration experience.
"We've learned by doing and have been able to incorporate this operational knowledge into both our BeneKit technology platform and the workflows that power our exchanges," said CIO and BeneKit developer, Ray West. "We want the new exchanges to be successful and plan selection tools are only the beginning of what it takes to run a successful exchange."
States who would like to take advantage of the company's offer should contact Kathleen Orlik at info@workablesolutions.com.
