Utah CPR Certification Courses and First Aid Training Offered as Low-cost Community Service

Individuals and companies needing CPR certification courses, first aid training, and recertification classes in Utah are now able to receive low-cost courses thanks to a non-profit charity.

2011-03-03
SALT LAKE CITY, UT, March 03, 2011 (Press-News.org) Low-cost CPR certification courses, first aid training, and recertificaiton classes are now available in Utah it was announced by the Association of Health and Wellness, a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity.

"Certification classes take only 3 1/2 to 4 hours to complete and include three certifications in one combined class for standard first aid, adult and pediatric CPR, and AED. The cost for the combined class is less than what other organizations charge for just one certification, and takes only half the time of other classes," explained David Bresnahan, executive director.

Companies and community organizations can schedule a training class at a time and location convenient to the participants. A nationally recognized ECSI certification card is provided upon completion of the class. Certification meets or exceeds the Heart Association and Red Cross guidelines, according to Bresnahan.

ECSI certification cards are accepted by employers, government agencies, the military, the Boy Scouts of America, youth sports programs, and others. Course materials were developed by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American College of Emergency Physicians, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Wilderness Medical Society, four of the most respected names in injury, illness, and emergency medical care.

"The minimum class size is just five, and for classes of 10 or more the cost per person is reduced to only $30. Companies may schedule classes for employees. Community organizations are able to schedule a class for their members, and individuals may invite friends, family, and neighbors to join together to form a group large enough to have a class," explained Bresnahan.

"Sudden injury as well as heart attacks and stroke are the main cause of death, so people we train in first aid and CPR skills can help prevent many of those deaths. Our mission is to enable many more members of the general public to become trained in first aid, CPR, and AED. We do not want cost to deter people from getting trained, so we keep the fee as low as possible," he added.

Details about the various first aid and CPR certification classes can be found online at http://www.FirstAid-CPR-AED-Utah.com, including information on how to schedule a class.
