OAI Presents "Winning More Business with AS9100"

Leveraging Quality as a Competitive Advantage

2011-03-09
CLEVELAND, OH, March 09, 2011 (Press-News.org) The Ohio Aerospace Institute (OAI) announced today that it has partnered with Silico Corporation to host "Winning More Business with AS9100," an afternoon seminar on March 31, 2011 at OAI headquarters. The purpose of this seminar is to demonstrate how to obtain the benefits and competitive advantages that AS9100 business processes provide, and to illustrate the best ways to leverage OAI's tools and resources for achieving success.

OAI has selected John M. Cachat, President and CEO of Silico Corporation, to share his knowledge and expertise on AS9100 processes. Cachat has a wide span of experience within the aerospace industry, ranging from Director of Quality Engineering at a major landing gear company to working with the US Air Force designing quality business systems. John was also a member of a NASA Headquarters Steering Committee that was formed to help small and disadvantaged suppliers meet the NASA quality requirements.

"Aerospace is a thriving industry, and there is enormous potential for business growth and expansion. Whether you are already doing business in Aerospace or you would like to, this is a must attend event," stated Don Majcher, Vice President, Technology & Innovation Partnerships. "Silico has a unique ability to take complex AS9100 requirements and explain them from a business point of view."

Cachat will explain how to gain an edge over competitors by leveraging the benefits of being registered to AS9100, including how to achieve global recognition as a reputable supplier, reduce operating costs, improve risk management, increase market share and grow profitability.

OAI invites your entire management team to attend this seminar. "Hopefully companies will send representatives from Sales, Engineering, Operations, departments other than just Quality," stated Cachat. "Participants will learn best practices to reduce costs, whether they choose to pursue formal AS9100 registration or not."

OEMs and Tier 1 Aerospace companies are strongly encouraged to invite their suppliers, as the material presented is also applicable to the success and well being of their organization. Large aerospace companies have made AS9100 registration a contractual requirement and they are challenged to help the smaller suppliers meet this requirement.

Registration is open to the first 190 respondents only. The cost for attending is $25.00 for OAI members and $35.00 for nonmembers. Please visit OAI's Event Calendar (www.oai.org/events) to register. The registration deadline is March 28, 2011.
