The WFPF (World Freerunning Parkour Federation) to perform for the NBA Detroit Piston's Half-Time Show on March 23, 2011... Bringing the WFPF and an MTV extreme sport to Center Court!

The Parkour Organization - WFPF (World Freerunning Parkour Federation) - that brought you MTV's Ultimate Parkour Challenge t.v. series, now brings the sport to NBA Center Court- this time with the Detroit Pistons.

LOS ANGELES, CA, March 10, 2011

THE WFPF to "jump" into Detroit "Parkour Style", at the NBA's Pistons Halftime show.

The gravity defying Parkour athletes from the WFPF (World Freerunning Parkour Federation) will celebrate NBA half-time with Detroit Pistons' mascot Hooper in his basketball arena, the Palace of Auburn Hills, as the Piston's match up against the Miami Heat on March 23, 2011.

The WFPF, which has become the "gold standard" for the world's Parkour sports movement, thrilled audiences this past summer with its hit MTV series "Ultimate Parkour Challenge" and its live competitions in Tampa and Boston where they partnered with Red Bull to bring "Art of Motion" to America. The WFPF's halftime show with the Detroit Pistons is a prelude to their debut at the NCAA Final Four (Houston, Texas - April 2-4) where their MTV stars will create the largest Parkour exhibition ever, in a long format performance at the George R. Brown Convention Center. This Houston performance will be sponsored by AT&T.

"We are ecstatic to be working with the NBA," says a WFPF spokesperson. "This is one of many NBA shows we are doing this season. There is nothing better than a stadium full of 30, 000 cheering basketball fans and us in center court being able to show them what we do! Most people know about Parkour from the opening scene in the James Bond movie 'Casino Royal' but when they see it live, they see that we don't need wires or special effects to do what we do! "

Michigan native and WFPF athlete Cory DeMeyers will be returning home to Michigan, to not only perform, but also to show the rest of the WFPF boys around his homestate. Cory is the son of Anissa Lyle and is an alumnus of Davison High School. He is a world champion Tang Soo Do martial artist and earned a 3rd degree black belt from PSKA Karate Davison at age 18 (Cory started training there at age 6 with "Instructor & Stepfather" John Lyle!) Cory competed in "Art of Motion" Boston, and will soon be featured in a national Nike advertising campaign, and a soon to be released film shot in Michigan called "PopStars". He is also currently working on a film project with Zero Kazama, of MTV's Silent Library. Although he moved to California in 2006, Cory returns back home to Michigan often, and is elated that this time it's as a part of a world renowned organization such as the WFPF.

The WFPF's nine member performance team for the Detroit Pistons halftime show is made up of members of the WFPF's Affiliate Team from California, "Team Aeon" (Cory DeMeyers, Robbie Corbett, Josh Yadon), WFPF Affiliate Team from Indiana "Team Momenta" (Matthew Barnes, Nicholas Zaleski, Adam LaPlante, Jerred Endsley), WFPF Athlete Max Henry from New York, and WFPF Affiliate Team member from New York's "Urban Vangaurd Parkour" (Sha Mualimm-Ak).

A spokesperson for the WFPF says," Detroit is such an iconic American city. I mean, when you think of Detroit, you think of the capital of the American auto industry and Motown and all of the music greats! Detroit is the center! And now we get to show them a bit about Parkour!"
