DropDigger Discovers Over 1,000 Unregistered Domains With Links From Respected Websites

Popular domaining site DropDigger has discovered over one thousand unregistered Internet domain names that are linked to from respected government, military, educational and media sites.

2011-03-26
LONDON, ENGLAND, March 26, 2011 (Press-News.org) DropDigger - a popular domaining site that scours the web for unregistered domain names - has discovered over one thousand unregistered domains, all of which are linked to from respected government, military, educational and media sites.

The domains are a goldseam for prospective domain buyers, search engine marketers and startups looking for a new name. Domain names ending with common top-level domains such as .com, .net and .org are notoriously hard to find, and these domains are especially valuable. This is because the link from the authority site not only can provide an initial source of traffic, but because it also often provides an advantage in the domain's search engine rankings.

Carl Eisenstein, founder of DropDigger said today: "DropDigger has not been a simple undertaking - in fact it's been far harder than any of us expected. We've had to build technology to rival some search engines, and have already scoured millions of pages across hundreds of thousands of authority domains to find the unregistered names we've found so far."

He adds: "The good thing about it though is that there are many many millions of pages more to try, so we should have a good number of these domains being unregistered names appearing for a long time to come."

DropDigger's domain list is available for free at http://www.dropdigger.com/. Visitors can subscribe to DropDigger's Twitter or RSS feeds to get free updates when new domains are discovered.

DropDigger (http://www.dropdigger.com) provides Internet marketers and domain prospectors with a unique free list of unregistered domain names that all have inbound links from the Internet's top authority sites. The service - launched in March 2011 - was founded by British Internet entrepreneur Carl Eisenstein.
