STAMFORD, CT, April 04, 2011 (Press-News.org) The Connecticut Challenge, whose mission is to empower cancer survivors to live longer, happier, healthier lives brought a meaningful and tremendously powerful program to the Connecticut community this month. Without Borders: The International Face Of Cancer is the story of Carolyn Taylor's photographic journey around the world, joining together the experiences and faces of cancer survivors from around the globe. The program was hosted by the Fairfield Public Library.
Carolyn Taylor was an accomplished photographer in the middle of her career when she was diagnosed with ovarian and endometrial cancers in 2006. Inspired by her own ordeal and the experiences of other cancer survivors, she won a grant from British Airways to photograph women living with cancer around the globe. Her goal through this project was to show how people living with cancer are intrinsically linked. Her 95,000 mile long worldwide tour included sixteen countries including Vietnam, Bangkok, South Africa, Jordan, Jerusalem, Israel, Nepal, India, and Switzerland.
"The Connecticut Challenge is honored and humbled to bring such a meaningful program to our community. We are delighted that so many people attended Carolyn Taylor's Without Borders. We look forward to continuing our mission to empower cancer survivors and encourage everyone to join us at our annual bike ride this summer. We would also like to thank the Fairfield Public Library for their hospitality," stated Bob Mazzone, Executive Director, CT Challenge.
The CT Challenge, established in 2005, is dedicated to creating and funding unique programs for cancer survivors, offering credible resources and building a community of support. To date over $5 million has been raised to support programs that help cancer survivors through the Annual CT Challenge Bike Ride, being held this year on July 30, 2011. Riders of all ages and abilities are welcome!

The results add to evidence that lack of vitamin D can lead to impaired vascular health, contributing to high blood pressure and the risk of cardiovascular disease. Study participants who increased their vitamin D levels were able to improve vascular health and lower their blood pressure.
The data is being presented on Sunday by Ibhar Al Mheid, MD, a cardiovascular ...
