Intellectual Jazz in Cary Griffiths' Abstract Artworks at Agora Gallery

Cary Griffiths is a contemporary artist and a musician who sees and hears a bridge between the beauty of music and that of abstract art.

2011-04-16
NEW YORK, NY, April 16, 2011 (Press-News.org) Chelsea's Agora Gallery will feature Utah artist, Cary Griffiths, in Labyrinth of Color. The exhibition is scheduled to run from May 12, 2011 through June 1, 2011 (opening reception: Thursday, May 12, 2011).

About the Artist
Strongly motivated by his internal passions and beliefs, painter Cary Griffiths is inspired not by ordinary subjects or sentiments. Instead, he paints his psyche - his inward inclinations - in melodic, vibrant colors and sumptuous, harmonious strokes. Through electrifying, rhythmic line, Griffiths poetically pierces through two-dimensional space, imbuing his canvases with a lyrical sense of music. Spirited in their graceful shapes and forms, these works identify with a core sense of courage and soul. "In its purest and most creative form, my art doesn't come from my mind; it comes from the place in me that I dream," he explains. "My total attention needs to be on the sensual flow of experience from the unconscious." As a child, Griffiths could diligently draw and appreciate color — as an adult, he has been able to delve into these innate talents and predilections, bringing a fresh sophistication to inborn skill and honing his aesthetic talents into pensive, painterly abstractions.

Cary Griffiths' work has been exhibited nationwide to critical acclaim.

After all, nature is an accomplished architect in her own right. From ...
