"I wrote this book in hopes that it will to serve as an inspiration to others who seem to be facing insurmountable circumstances and where all hope seems to be lost," says Cabbell. "With the struggles that many families face today, I want to be able to lead by example in that you can overcome any obstacle with God on your side."

Book Teaser - first night after jail sentencing:
That night, when I got back to my cell, I prayed hard. I said, "Father, all this time I have been staying positive, leading the people to you, but I don't think I can do this. Save me." The next morning, my prayers were answered! My name was called, and when I made it to the door, the deputy asked, "Do you want to be a trustee?" I didn't know what in the world a trustee was, but I replied, "Yes! " I took the six steps I had prayed for. Right outside the doors of the holding unit was the trustee unit. Over there, you were assigned an area of the facility to clean and/or work. In return, you were allowed to drink coffee or punch all day and they brought out cookies three times a day. I quickly learned that punch and cookies were a luxury in the jail system, and back in Wyoming I had started a fast: no punch or cookies for me -- but the coffee was very appealing. You also got to watch TV all day, use the phone whenever you wanted to, and go to bed later than over in the holding unit ... It was like a mini heaven. I really knew God had me on a mission once I learned that it usually takes three to six weeks to become a trustee, and people would sit in that holding unit for a month before being transferred. God used me, and I'm glad, because I didn't know what I would do if I had to stay there. However, I would soon find out . . .
About Cabbell:
A native of New Orleans, Jayda "Divva" Cabbell is a mother, wife, community servant, author and natural giver. As the co-founder of The Blessings in the Sky Foundation (www.thebitsonline.org), Cabbell has been feeding the homeless and hungry for the past 5 years through various programs and events. Cabbell began her quest to Strike Hunger from her hotel room in Atlanta after being displaced as a result of Hurricane Katrina. This simple act energized a whole movement that has blessed many homeless citizens and families in the Atlanta area. This endeavor grew to "Divva on a Mission," where she went inside the homes of less fortunate families, supplied them with a new dinner table, and prepared meals for the family while teaching the children etiquette and basic kitchen skills. Now author of her first book, Cabbell is embarking on an aggressive tour that will kick-off in New Orleans, LA on April 23, 2011.
