Criminal Defense Attorney John L. Calcagni, III Admitted to US Armed Forces Courts

Providence, RI - On April 28, 2011, Attorney John L. Calcagni, III was granted admission to the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, and the United States Army Court of Criminal Appeal.

PROVIDENCE, RI, May 16, 2011 (Press-News.org) On April 28, 2011, Attorney John L. Calcagni, III was granted admission to the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, and the United States Army Court of Criminal Appeal. Attorney Calcagni was a former Special Assistant US Attorney with the US Department of Justice, and served in the US Military JAG Corps for four years before going into private practice as a criminal defense attorney.

When asked to comment on his admission to the courts, Attorney Calcagni said, "I am honored for the opportunity to serve the men and women in our armed forces in this capacity. My admission to these Courts expands my ability to represent defendants facing charges in these areas."

The US Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces hears cases involving all members of the US Armed Forces on active duty, and any other persons subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice. The US Army Court of Criminal Appeals reviews court martial convictions of Army personnel.
