Fulton County, Georgia Jail Chooses Correctional Medical Services

CMS receives notification of intent to award contract with a $14M annual value and potential extension for four additional years for total revenue to exceed $56M

ST. LOUIS, MO, May 26, 2011 (Press-News.org) Correctional Medical Services, Inc. (CMS), the nation's leading provider in correctional healthcare services, was recently awarded a contract for the Fulton County Jail in Fulton County, Georgia. Beginning on July 1, 2011, the contract is for six months with four additional one-year options to follow. The total annualized value of the first year of the contract is $14 million.

"CMS has been supporting the correctional healthcare needs of state and local governments for more than three decades," said Stuart Campbell, President and Chief Operating Officer for CMS. "That experience allowed us to put together a plan that specifically met the needs of Fulton County. We look forward to working in partnership with the county to deliver quality care, while helping to most effectively manage taxpayer resources."

The Fulton County Jail has an average daily population of 2,800 inmates for whom CMS will be administering a variety of health services. The contract specifies that CMS will provide full staffing, pharmacy services, utilization management, electronic medical record services and mental health services.
