DETROIT, MI, June 20, 2011 (Press-News.org) Ideal Shield, leading manufacturer of maintenance free facility protection and guarding products has added a drainable sign base to its popular sign base product line. The new base is pyramid shaped and features a ¾" diameter hole at the bottom that is secured with bolt plug. This drain hole is designed to for quick and easy emptying of the water used to stabilize the sign base.
"We are always looking for ways to improve our products or new products that answer customer needs," says Linzie Venegas, Ideal Shield Sales and Marketing manager. "One of our customers mentioned they would like an easy way to empty water from the base, so we went to work and made it happen."
Ideal Shield sign bases, manufactured from high density polyethylene plastic with anti-static additives, are harsh weather and fade resistant. These sign bases are designed to offer a maintenance free alternative to heavy concrete sign bases. Ideal Shield offers two models, the Octagon Sign Base and the Pyramid Sign Base. Each base can be stabilized by filling it with water, sand, or cement depending on the application. Wind load testing shows the sign bases are able to withstand winds from 55 mph to 110 mph depending on the size of the sign and material used to stabilize it. The Octagon sign base has bolt holes and can permanently secure to the ground while the pyramid sign base is available with wheels and the new drain feature.
