QUEENSTOWN, NEW ZEALAND, June 30, 2011

Queenstown will be hosting 4 teams for their training as well as being the venue for the Classic All Blacks vs Classic French Match

Queenstown is preparing for record numbers of visitors this winter and spring as not only are the normal visitors to the ski fields expected but numbers will be boosted by tourists here to see the Rugby World Cup which runs from 9 September to 23 October. Queenstown is the perfect base for these visitors, as it is close to Christchurch, Dunedin and Invercargill as well as boasting an international airport. The many activities available as well as the spectacular scenery make it the perfect destination for those wishing to take a few days out between rugby games.

Ireland, England, Romania and Georgia will be training and staying in Queenstown in September at the fabulous range of facilities and accommodation Queenstown has to offer. These teams will be present at various times from 1 - 15 September.

The match between the Classic All Blacks and the French Classics scheduled for the 18 September at the Queenstown Recreation Ground is shaping up to be an epic. The New Zealand team will feature many former All Blacks many of whom, although no longer contracted to New Zealand Rugby, still play overseas. The French team will most likely include some of the team which dashed the All Black's Rugby World Cup hopes in Twickenham in 1999. It is going to be a great day out for the whole family.

Earlier in the season the winter festival, which runs from 24 June to 3 July, is expected to attract 45 000 people to its festivities. This has been running for the last 36 years and is rated by many as the biggest and best party south of the equator. There will a variety of activities suited to a wide range of tastes and ages.
