KIEV, UKRAINE, July 03, 2011 (Press-News.org) OrdinarySoft has released the Classic Start Menu program for Windows 7. Prompted by Microsoft stopping support for the old menu style in Windows 7, this new software simplifies users' transition to the new Windows. Features of the software include support for the Aero Theme and the "search programs by name" tool.
Despite the fact that the old Windows Start Menu was designed long ago, it was still competing with new versions of the menu in Windows Vista. The fact is, the classic menu makes efficient use of screen space, and you can see all your programs at once. By contrast, in Windows 7 a lot of scrolling and clicking are required. Nevertheless, the Windows 7 menu has a tool to "search programs by name" - an excellent advantage over the old menu.
OrdinarySoft developers have created an interface that combines both approaches, and as a result, come up with Classic Start Menu. This software supports convenient menu navigation, but still lets you perform searches for programs and documents using Windows Desktop Search or Google Desktop. In addition, the software looks natural and up-to-date in the new operating system, as it uses the Aero Theme. In this way, Classic Start Menu is the optimal solution for the Windows 7 user.
Besides the possibilities listed above, the software includes a vast
number of other improvements:
The One-click opening function allows you to select the main program in each folder and open it by clicking on the folder. Similarly, program icons are visible in the list of all programs and can be opened instantly.
Classic Start Menu has been specifically developed to become the central hub, from which you can access any corner of your computer. So you can add to the menu any system file, disk, program or command.
Special note should be made of the power management buttons, which have never been so convenient. By right-clicking, users can select which buttons they want to see, or even hide all buttons and call up the power management panel with a double click. Furthermore, all power buttons have a timer, which you can use to delay restarting or shutdown of your PC.
Software developer Denis Nazarenko had the following to say on the name of the software: "We wanted the name to be easy for users to remember; therefore we chose a phrase that was already familiar, Classic Start Menu, and a corresponding domain name - http://www.classicstartmenu.com . When you install the software you will hopefully realize that we had every right to take this name, as our program is the only worthy substitution for the old classic menu in Windows 7."
Classic Start Menu runs under Windows 7, costs $19.99 for a single-user version, and is available online at http://www.classicstartmenu.com . You can download a 30-day trial version from the same web address; the only limitation of the unregistered version is a nag screen that appears occasionally when you click Start.
