JACKSON, MI, July 08, 2011 (Press-News.org) Carbon paper is still a very popular item. For instance pen and pencil carbon can be used to make a second copy of forms on the fly. When you are out in the field and don't have a copy machine, just insert a piece of carbon between your forms and the the information is transfered to the second copy. It is also an economical way to save money on forms. The same carbon can be used over and over again, between forms. This feature is great for delivery drivers or sales people who need to make a duplicate or triplicate copy of a manifest, or order forms. Many third world countries and missionaries use carbon paper where a typewriter takes the place of a computer. Or where a copy machine is not available. This product is also quite popular in correctional facilities where the use of computer and copy machines are sometimes prohibited.
Pen and pencil carbon consists of a thick paper with an extra amount of pigment on the paper. Then the pressure from the pen or pencil, is easily transferred onto the second copy. This also allows the transferred characters to last longer on the paper.
Typewriter carbon consists of a thinner paper with less pigment. The sharp clean strike of the keys produces a crisp image on the second copy.
Office Supply Hut carries a selection of carbon paper from these manufacturers, Nukote, Mead, Roaring Spring and Industrias Kores. Herschel finds source of cosmic dust in a stellar explosion
2011-07-08
ESA's Herschel Space Observatory is helping unravel the mystery of where cosmic dust comes from. Thanks to the resolution and sensitivity of Herschel, astronomers have been able to detect cosmic dust from a supernovae, adding weight to the theory that these cosmic fireworks are responsible for its creation.
The origin of the dust is important because it plays a crucial role in the formation of stars, particularly billions of years ago when star formation was at its peak. Galaxies like our own Milky Way are not simply collections of stars, but also contain clouds of ...
