GRAND RAPIDS, MI, July 22, 2011 (Press-News.org) Charlsie Dewey has joined Sabo Public Relations, LLC as a public relations and social media strategist.
Dewey brings more than six years of professional communications experience to her new role at SPR. She will assist clients in developing and implementing effective social media strategies to build their brands and connect with stakeholders via Twitter, Facebook and other social media venues. She will also be responsible for media relations with traditional print and broadcast outlets, employee communications and crisis management.
"We are very pleased to have Charlsie join our growing team," said Mary Ann Sabo, founder and president of SPR. "She has strong skills in print journalism and social media, which are crucial in effective media relations. She is a great addition to Sabo PR and has made immediate contributions to the business and to our clients."
Dewey has a solid background in journalism, working at print media outlets in Grand Rapids and Chicago as a reporter and editor prior to joining SPR. She continues to work as a freelance writer for The Windy City Times in Chicago and for print and online news and arts outlets in Grand Rapids. She also spent two years directing communication and education programs for a large Grand Rapids non-profit.
Additionally, she volunteers her time on the program committee for the Progressive Women's Alliance.
Dewey holds a bachelor of arts in English from the University of Dayton (Ohio). A native of Ada, she currently lives in Grand Rapids with her partner, Emily Gilson.
