WASHINGTON, DC, February 08, 2012 (Press-News.org) NOT ALONE (www.notalone.com), a 501c3 dedicated to reducing suicide rates among returning warriors and their families and increasing awareness and free, private, confidential treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), is proud to announce that their running team is complete and ready to participate in The Rock N' Roll USA Marathon in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, March 17, 2012. over 50 military spouses, warriors, family members and NOT ALONE supporters will lace up their shoes in order to raise awareness against these invisible war-related traumas our military families deal with on a daily basis.
Coming home from war is often just the start of the battle for our military veterans and their families. There are as many as 18 suicides per day among all U.S. veterans, and a veteran is 12 times more likely to die by his or her own hand after leaving the military than to be killed in action by an enemy combatant while on active duty. In addition, estimates show more than 300,000 veterans are suffering from PTSD, and 75% of these men and women will not receive adequate treatment. Combined with their parents, significant others and children, 1.5 million Americans are deeply affected by the aftermath of war.
YOU TOO CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE BY DONATING TODAY AT: http://www.active.com/donate/notaloneteam.

Patent Pending Technology Reduces High Speed Hand Dryer Noise
2012-02-08
Hand Dryer noise makes it hard to carry a conversation while drying your hands. This has been a common complaint for years and manufacturers have been working on this problem with little to no success. Until now.
Traditional hand dryers use a slower moving large volume of warm air to evaporate moisture from one's hands. The low velocity of the air is slow to penetrate the surface of the water, thus resulting in long drying times. Newer high speed hand dryers create about 50% more noise than a conventional hand dryer. The problem occurs when the high velocity air hits ...

For those of us who haven't been hit by cupid's arrow this year, the romance novel is the perfect way to treat yourself to an evening of quiet bliss.
"It may sound cliche, but cliches usually have a basis in truth - because really, what woman doesn't love an evening in a warm bubble bath, a glass of wine and good chocolate? ...

Midori Furuhashi Explores the Nature of Love at Agora Gallery
2012-02-08
Midori Furuhashi, a native of Hiroshima, dives deep into Japanese artistic tradition to create her one-of-a-kind, dreamily updated visions of the sublime. Employing the ancient materials of handmade paper and pigment derived from metal, shell, and rock, Furuhashi recreates the delicate, radiant tracery of the best-known Japanese pen-and-ink painters, such as Katsushika Hokusai. However, her addition of a female figure intertwined with flowers, animals, and symbolic elements is unmistakably modern and irrepressibly imaginative, showing her vision beyond the confines of tradition.
