MUNICH, GERMANY, September 25, 2010 (Press-News.org) Eco-conscious tourists and business travellers planning to visit Munich towards the end of next month are sure to enjoy paying a visit to the eCarTec expo.
Running between October 19th and 21st 2010 at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre, the show has a number of high-profile patrons, including Dr Angelika Niebler MEP, federal minister of transport, building and urban development Dr Peter Ramsauer and Bavarian minister of economics, infrastructure, transport and technology Martin Zeil.
The event will aim to highlight the benefits of environmentally-friendly motoring to attendees, with the organisers predicting green vehicles - including bikes, cars and vans - will become increasingly prevalent over the next few years.
People with an interest in the subject who step out from their Munich hotels to visit the expo will be able to browse displays on a variety of subjects, from electric vehicles and energy and infrastructure to finance, engineering and subcontracting.
Among the big-name brands and companies to appear at eCarTec 2010 are BMW, Mitsubishi Motors Deutschland and the Alliance of Alternatively Driven Vehicles.
One of the highlights of the expo will be the presentation of five awards for businesses that are judged to have provided a significant contribution to the sustainable electric mobility sector.
Categories include best electric vehicle, best drive technology, system electronics & testing systems, and best energy, infrastructure & connection technology.
A panel of experts, including Thomas Krause of Chemetall and Thomic Ruschmeyer of Bundesverband Solare Mobilitat, will decide which firms are deserving of being honoured at the awards ceremony.
Prospective visitors to the show do not need to worry about booking their place in advance, as the organisers have assured that tickets will be available at the venue.
Standard day passes are priced at EUR24 (GBP20), while admission for the afternoon only costs EUR10 for adults and EUR5 for children.
For more information on this event, visit the eCarTec website.
