OTSU, JAPAN, March 13, 2012 (Press-News.org) Optex Co. LTD, a leading manufacturer of security infrared and laser technology, announced today the integration of their Redscan laser sensor with Genetec's Security Center, their unified platform which seamlessly blends IP license plate recognition, video surveillance and access control.

The Optex Redscan is an innovative laser-scan detector that identifies a moving object's size, speed, and distance from the detector. It processes that information with a unique algorithm, resulting in a highly reliable detection system with minimal false alarms. With the high demand for this type of unified platforms, system integrators can now offer their customers the addition of Redscan's exceptional perimeter security detection features for their government, critical security or high-end large commercial applications.

"Combining Optex Redscan sensor technology with Genetec's Security Center will provide a time-saving streamlined systems integration solution for users who want to cut through the clutter of multiple applications," says Ryosuke Miwa, Optex's general manager of global sales and marketing. "Since monitoring is real-time and more efficient to manage, Optex Redscan detectors actively reduce video driven false alarms. As a result, it can eliminate the need for costly response by personnel."

"The addition of Optex Redscan sensors to our ecosystem of technology partners will bring our customers even greater possibilities. Along with intrusion detection, asset management and other key business systems, our customers can now unify Optex Redscan sensor technology within the Security Center and benefit from greater efficiency in their multi-application environments," states Morgan Pasnon, senior technology alliance manager for Genetec.

Genetec's Security Center will be part of the Optex product showcase, booth 9039, at the ISC West International Security Conference and Exposition in Las Vegas, NV, March 28-30th.
