Indie rock group The Sunshine Underground will be playing to audiences at the Fibbers venue in York on April 21st 2012.

YORK, ENGLAND, March 29, 2012 (Press-News.org) York's Fibbers concert venue will play host to a show by The Sunshine Underground as part of the band's latest UK tour next month.

The Leeds-based indie rock act will perform on April 21st 2012 at 19:30 BST, with tickets available online for GBP11.

Named after a song by The Chemical Brothers, the band was formed after its members met at university and released their debut album Raise the Alarm in 2006.

They have gained a loyal following over the years thanks to singles such as Put You in Your Place, Commercial Breakdown, We've Always Been Your Friends and Spell It Out, while work on a third album is now underway.

Concert-goers have been promised an intoxicating mix of "huge choruses, boisterous bass lines and repetitive beats" by the organisers, as well as a blend of musical styles that defies easy categorisation.

Following the York show, The Sunshine Underground will continue their tour with dates in Nottingham, London, Brighton and Stoke.
