The Chef's Academy Hires Chef Chris Francis As New Culinary Instructor

Culinary Institute Expands Educational Department With The Hiring Of Chef Chris Francis

INDIANAPOLIS, IN May 12, 2012 (Press-News.org) The Chef's Academy (http://www.thechefsacademy.com), the Culinary Division of Harrison College, a 110-year-old, nationally accredited institution that offers 40 degree programs in five schools of study, has announced the hire of a new culinary instructor, Chef Chris Francis. With 16 years of experience, Francis has taught wines and spirits, meat fabrication, and soups and sauces at Scottsdale Culinary Le Cordon Bleu in Scottsdale, Ariz. While teaching, he opened a catering company, which later turned into a small restaurant named Baguettes Bistro. Francis currently owns a consulting and catering company called Food Innovations. Previously, he owned a restaurant called Indigo Bakery in Texas, and he helped open another restaurant called Joe's Smoke House in Oklahoma. Francis studied occupational studies/hotel and restaurant management at Oklahoma State University and earned an associate degree from Le Cordon Bleu. He served in the U.S. Armed Forces from 1990 to 1996. Active professionally, Francis maintains membership in the American Culinary Federation, which is the largest organization of professional chefs nationwide, and as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, seeks to build awareness of the culinary industry and strengthen the image of professional chefs.
