NEW YORK, NY, July 02, 2012 (Press-News.org) In recent years, truly great economic news has often proven difficult to find--but a new report, published in the Charlotte Observer, offers a glimpse of true hope for economic recovery. The article finds that the volume of commercial building permits awarded in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, has doubled since this time last year--and that the number of permits awarded in the month of May was higher than at any point since August of 2008. The Observer article has drawn the attention of many economics and municipal building experts--including the New York-based firm Milrose Consultants.
The Observer article notes that there has been little interest in building new commercial buildings over the past three years, but the increased level of interest bodes well for both developer and consumer confidence. Ultimately, the article says that the trend in Mecklenburg commercial building permits is "part of an upward trend that has developers regaining some optimism."
This upward trend is not relegated to North Carolina, however, but is evident in markets throughout the country--including the Northeast, a fact that Milrose Consultants notes in a new statement to the press. "Based on the groundwork laid in 2011, the remainder of 2012 may just give 2008 a run for its money in terms of commercial development," says the Milrose Consultants press statement. "These signs of recovery offer a welcome change after years of dire predictions by economists and the media."
Milrose Consultants is a firm that works with developers throughout New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania, helping them secure the licenses and permits they need to build, as well as offering zoning consultation services and a variety of other turnkey business solutions.
The company's optimism for the state of commercial development in 2012 is nothing new, however. In fact, Milrose Consultants expressed hope for economic recovery in January of this month. In the earliest days of 2012, the company's newsletter said, "Throughout the Northeast, many businesses and nonprofit institutions have been planning for new construction and space updates in 2012. Early signs from our top 100 clients indicate that 2012 will be a busy year of corporate relocations, new hospitality venues and reinvention of older spaces as companies take advantage of inexpensive financing."
These 2012 trends are based on the strong economic foundations laid in 2011. Last year, Milrose Consultants was active in an estimated $800 million worth of municipal construction projects in New York City alone, to say nothing of developments throughout other cities and states in the Northeast.

Several States Make Choking a Felony Charge
2012-07-02
Several states across the country are moving to tighten the laws on strangling. A much debated topic, choking and strangulation is one of the top domestic abuse crimes, but is not considered a felony by many states. Those in favor of making it a felony believe abusers deserve more than a slap on the wrist when severe choking occurs, while those who oppose the bill fear the felony charge will be loosely tossed around, which is a problem when it comes to false complaints. If you have been falsely accused or arrested for assault and battery, you may need to speak with an experienced ...

Declining Patient Rights and Medical Malpractice Reform

The myth that tort reform, or caps on medical malpractice claims, will make medical care affordable has ...
