A virtual pinboard. Seriously, what?? It's a website were mostly women swap pictures of things they like. Planning a wedding, decorating your dream home and looking for a new wardrobe are just a few ways to use Pinterest. You can create different categorized pinboards. A wedding pinboard, dream home pinboard, new wardrobe pinboard, etc. Other people on Pinterest will have similiar pinboards. You can search for them and repin the pictures you like from their pinboards onto your own pinboards.

Okay, let's make this real simple. In real life, in your office or home you have a bulletin board. You post up your kid's report cards, pictures, reminders, etc. Now imagine you visit your friend's home or office and on their bulletin board they have a picture of a shirt or a piece of furniture you really like. You take that picture home and put it on your own bulletin board. That's Pinterest. Except with Pinterest, you can have multiple bulletin boards, or as they call them Pinboards.
Simply, Pinterest is great for organizing all the beautiful and interesting things you find online. It's your real life, social media bulletin board.
