Book Industry Veteran Launches Christian Author Coaching Service
2012-07-26
SANFORD, FL, July 26, 2012 (Press-News.org) Everyone has a story to tell, but not everyone knows how to put their thoughts into words--especially readable words. Now those with a Christian narrative or message have a "go to" resource to meet their editorial needs. Publishing industry veteran Angie Kiesling has launched The Editorial Attic, a one-stop shop offering everything from hourly author consultations to full-service manuscript editing, back-cover copy blurbs, and editorial reviews to assess a book's strengths and weaknesses before publication.

"Author coaching sprang organically out of what I do every day, which is edit books for publication," Kiesling said. "Over the years an author might say 'can we talk?' and ask me a question--how to structure their next book, say, or what they did right or wrong on the first one, or how to make their writing punchier--and those conversations gradually turned into a new livelihood." Frustrated authors, especially first-time authors, often need help, she added, and now there's a place they can go to get a leg up on the road to publication.

The Editorial Attic (www.editorialattic.com or www.christianauthorcoach.com) is best suited for writers who:

- sense an untold story or message simmering inside but don't know how to get started
- already have their book content but need help structuring it for maximum potential
- have a completed book manuscript but crave the expert eye of a trained professional to edit the content or offer an honest critique before taking the leap into publication.

A writer/editor since 1985, Angie Kiesling has authored more than a dozen books including the novel Skizzer (Revell), Jaded (Revell), Where Have All the Good Men Gone? (Harvest House), and Soul Deep: Prayers & Promises for Cultivating Inner Beauty (Barbour). She also ghostwrote Live Like a Jesus Freak, the popular follow-up to DC Talk's bestseller Jesus Freaks.

Over the course of her career, she has worked as a magazine staff editor (Charisma, Christian Retailing, Central Florida), website editor (iBelieve.com) and column writer (Crosswalk.com), book editor and ghostwriter, editorial director for a major print-on-demand publisher, and religion reporter for Publishers Weekly. She participates annually as a fiction judge for a national awards contest and today works as an independent writer/editor, author consultant, and writer's workshop speaker. She finds no greater joy than in helping other writers give birth to the stories and messages within them.

Angie Kiesling and The Editorial Attic can be reached at akiesling@cfl.rr.com or by visiting the website www.editorialattic.com (or www.christianauthorcoach.com).

The Editorial Attic is an editorial services company specializing in author coaching, editing, manuscript reviews, and back-cover copy.
