MONROE TOWNSHIP, NJ, July 26, 2012 (Press-News.org) The doctors at Outlook EyeCare, are now among the first New Jersey optometrists or ophthalmologists to offer EYLEA , one of the newest treatments for wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
EYLEA was recently approved by the FDA for injection into the eyes of patients suffering from wet AMD, which is the more advanced and severe form of AMD.
After doing his own thorough study of the efficacy of this new treatment, Dr. Wayne Grabowski, a board-certified ophthalmologist, is adopting it for use in his practice.
"One of the greatest benefits of EYLEA is that it may only need to be injected every other month to achieve the same results as monthly injections of Lucentis, another highly effective treatment for AMD," Dr. Grabowski says. "The hope is that EYLEA will reduce the number of treatments needed to slow, or hopefully stop, the progression of the disease."
Outlook EyeCare has two locations, one in Monroe Township and one in Princeton. The offices are staffed by an outstanding team of ophthalmologists, optometrists and opticians who have the skills and experience to treat a wide range of eye needs - everything from vision assessment and correction to the treatment of eye diseases.
Dr. Grabowski, the founder of Outlook EyeCare, is one of the leading eye care specialists in the tri-state area. He is a nationally recognized retinal disease specialist and an experienced retinologist and intravitreal medication specialist. He has years of experience treating macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and retinal vein occlusions.
The New Jersey eye doctor has performed thousands of cataract operations and was one of the first Princeton ophthalmologists to implant multifocal intraocular lenses.
In addition to treating vision problems and eye diseases, Outlook EyeCare offers cosmetic procedures for the areas around the eyes. The Outlook staff frequently performs eyelid surgery as well as administering BOTOX Cosmetic and injectable dermal fillers that add volume to the face and minimize the appearance of facial wrinkles.
"Our goal is to meet all of our patients' eye needs," Dr. Grabowski says, "everything from prescribing corrective lenses and performing laser vision correction to treating the most serious, vision-threatening eye diseases. At our two locations, you will find optometrists and ophthalmologists who are at the top of their fields with unparalleled credentials and experience."
Outlook EyeCare is a full-service eye care center offering top quality, comprehensive services for patients from Monroe Township and Princeton, New Jersey, as well as the surrounding communities. The two Outlook EyeCare locations are staffed by a carefully assembled team of eye care professionals, all of whom are highly esteemed in the medical community. As a result of the specialized training each of the doctors has completed, Outlook EyeCare is able to meet a full range of eye care needs - vision, medical, surgical and cosmetic - from the most basic to the most complex.
